The Digital Angel Location/Condition
Sensor Systems for Wanderers makes it fast and
easy for you to pinpoint where they are as well as how they
are.
Where
they are. Signals are sent from the system components
- a wristwatch and pager-size device. They are worn comfortably;
there's absolutely no need to penetrate the skin.
How
they are. Using advanced biosensor technology,
the body temperature and pulse rate can be reviewed. What's
more, an emergency 911 alert button
on the wristwatch enables a distress call to be sent to the
Digital Angel Call Center. That way, you and/or the caregiver
and authorized, local EMS authorities can be alerted immediately.
And, because falling
down is a constant worry to caregivers of persons afflicted
with Alzheimer's disease, Digital Angel system can even include
a Digital Angel Sudden Fall Sensor.
This sensor will let caregivers or medical personnel know
whether the patient is upright, moving from a sitting to an
upright position,or has fallen down.
How
you're alerted. Information from the location and
condition sensors and the 911 alert button are transmitted
to the Digital Angel Delivery System. The wanderer's precise
geographic location can be viewed by you and anyone else you
authorize by simply logging-on to the secure Digital
Angel Delivery System (DADS) website or by
calling the Digital Angel Call Center.
How
to buy it. Both the Digital Angel components that
are worn and the Digital Angel Delivery System service contract
must be purchased together. The components will be available
in November 2001 for $299 plus tax and shipping and one of
three levels of service to be offered, ranging from $19.95
- $49.95.
