Consciousness determines body. Jesus speaking of his body said he may lay it down or pick it up; infer¬ring that of itself it had no creative power. Your body and its wants cannot cause you to try and do a wrong. You want to first mentally choose a plan of action and your body fulfills the choice in acts. You want to consciously or subconsciously want to try and do wrong in order for the body to finish the process. Your subconscious mind is the key creative oper¬ation in your life. You are ninety % subconscious in the method you handle life. Everything you do is ac¬complished by the work of the subconscious. The inter¬action of the conscious mind (volition) and the sub¬conscious mind (the Law of Action) justify and de¬termine your experience. What you opt with the conscious mind is made by the subconscious mind. Failing to make a decision an issue consciously, your subcon¬scious takes the accumulated choices of your years of living and produces an experience like unto them. It then produces under a law of averages.
There are too many average people, who let this law of averages operate them. Life requires call in addition to desire. Unless you exercise the spiritual gifts of need and call, you’ll stay an ineffective person. You will be honest, kindly and exhausting operating, but solely after you give specific direction to your sub¬conscious do you become a very important, creative outlet of the Mind of God. The sum-total of all that you have ever thought, felt or experienced is in your subconscious. It resides there not merely as passive memory but also as directive power. All thinking and feeling moves from the extent of the conscious to the subconscious where it continues to exist as an influencing power. Unless your conscious mind is motivated by spiritual thinking and high ideals, it can still feed the subcon¬scious average impressions that can continue in your experience solely average results.
A spiritual plan deliberately accepted by the con-scious mind becomes a law of action at the subcon-scious level. Spiritual thinking is a command to the subconscious to produce a good.
