MedReady
Key Features:
1. MedReady delivers
oral medication in tablet or capsule form up to four times a day.
A large, programmable, bright red, L.E.D. display tells the
time and aids setting alarms. (More readable than competitive LCD's)
2. The audible
alarm alerts the patient that it is time for medication and beeps
5 seconds and off 1 second continuously until the patient activates
the "off" position by accessing the medications by sliding
the door open. This time can be adjusted to one of four settings.
These are 30, 45, 60, or 250 minutes.
3. Only
the most recent dose is available! Unlike some other medication
dispensers, the medication is not "dumped" into a collector.
If a patient misses a dose, there is no way to "double dose."
The indexed circular tray rotates one dose when the audible alarm
sounds.
4. MedReady
holds 28 doses. This can mean seven days q.i.d., 9-1/3 t.i.d
, 14 days b.i.d., 28 days q.d.
5. Medication
is under lock and key.
6. Removable
trays permit off-site loading by licensed personnel or family members.
Roughly the size of a nine-inch pie pan, spare trays and transport
covers are available to allow a swift "swap-out" of empty
trays.
7. Ergonomic
design makes medication removal very easy. Compartments are
designed to fit adult fingers and "ramped" for easy removal
of medication.
8. The gear
drive (no belts to wear out) is isolated from the medication - no
messy or lost doses.
9. Precision
fit, precision indexing. This means only one compartment is
accessible at a time. Some (more expensive) competitive units can
permit partial views of adjacent compartments with access to their
contents. Even very tiny medications will not migrate to another
compartment when the unit is turned upside-down.
10. A
plug-in "wall-pack" transformer provides steady 12-volt
DC current, superior to battery dependent units in which power declines
as batteries fatigue. The transformer also maintains the emergency
back-up battery to continue operation for up to 72 hours in the
event of a power outage. (To extend service, only the blinking colon
is visible when on backup battery power). MedReady easily
adapts to mobile 12-volt power in autos and motor homes.
11. MedReady
can provide custom radio-frequency output circuit boards
to activate sending units in personal alert systems. This
service presently is available only to manufacturers of personal
alert systems and requires large minimum orders.
