Line Overview
The Eyes On Elders video monitoring product line consists
of a network camera, a device by which to connect to the Internet
or to a remote PC, motion detection devices, and software
to facilitate a secure, user-friendly environment for end
users.
All cameras operate
on the Linux operating system providing a robust and reliable
operating environment.
All systems require
configuration. This includes security measures including usernames
and passwords; ISP information; upload frequency; upload triggers,
as well as other parameters.
The recommended
upload frequency for a system without motion detection is
at 30 second - 5 minute intervals. This will maintain the
connection to the Internet continuously. Every image uploaded
will replace the previous image. No storage is provided.
In this mode, dial in reconfiguration may not be possible.
Adding users or changing upload parameters could result
in returning the unit to VisionAge for reconfiguration at
an additional charge.
The recommended
upload frequency for systems with motion detection is at
15-minute intervals with additional uploads if motion is
detected. Historical viewing can be achieved through storage
of the previous 24 hours. Since this can result is significant
storage, additional storage space may need to be purchased.
This mode can be reconfigured remotely.
Systems that
are configured for dial in only provide real time monitoring
only unless the user chooses to "Save As" to file.
Motion detectors
may be mounted close to the camera or up to 15' away but must
be connected by a cable. Power for the motion detector is
provided by the camera's power supply.
Systems will be
configured to retry the connection to the ISP and an alternate
local access number will be provided to compensate for busy
signals.

Services
Secure Server Portal
Our Eyes On Elders secure server provides login protection
as well as encryption to provide a secure environment for
users who may be concerned about privacy. A user-friendly
interface is provided to insure the easiest access possible
while maintaining security. In cases where a password is forgotten,
we will reset it to a default value as once the client has
changed their password, even we can't access it. For purposes
of 3rd party monitoring, usernames and passwords will be issued
to the 3rd party. All accesses to the camera are maintained
in a log file for historical reference and tracability (with
continued power and access).
*Future function
of the portal will be to store configuration data and will
reconfigure upon reconnect. This will reduce reconfiguration
issues in the field. However, it is still preferable to have
the units fully configured upon delivery using the portal
for reconfiguration only.
Configuration/Reconfiguration
All units must be configured with unique information in order
to secure image data as well as to provide an easy installation.
After proper configuration, customers need only mount the
camera and motion detector (if included), plug in the power
supply, connect the modem to the back of the camera, and connect
the modem to a phone jack. Given that the telephone line is
active, the camera will begin to dial out to the customer's
ISP, make a connection to the Internet, and begin transmitting
files to the Eyes On Elders Server.
Any unit requiring
reconfiguration will be serviced either through remote access
or through unit return. This may be required due to change
of residence (i.e. from home to assisted living) or through
sale of the product to a different user. Charges for reconfiguration
are defined in the agreement.
Technical Support
VisionAge will provide technical support via the Internet
at support@eyesonelders.com.
VisionAge will provide FAQ's as well as a basic troubleshooting
guide to resellers and end users.
